Totally Not GG
Scout by Land: This is a section of grassy plains periodically interspersed with rivers and smaller tributaries. Perception DC 20: You can see some sails in the distance, trawling slowly about the waterways.
Scout by Air (Perception DC 15): The rivers in the distance bristle with black sails. Be wary!
The PCs are attacked, either on the river banks or in their own boat on the river, by a small crew of pirates manning a cog. The cog has one rotating cannon that the siege crew fires at the PCs as frequently as possible, while the boarding pirates take a rowboat and move to engage the PCs. The Pirate Officer uses bardic music on all of his allies, while the Pirate Wizard moves to waylay the PCs. The cog also has a rowing crew of 8, although they only resort to fighting in desperation and are considerably less threatening.
