Scout by Air: This mountainside covered in a slide of loose gravel.

Scout by Land: The mountain ahead of you is tall and steep and gravely with a few caves here and there.

As the PC’s explore the mountain they come to a slope that is difficult to climb due to loose gravel there. This counts as difficult terrain and the climbing is slow. DC 25 Perception check or detect magic notices a skeletal hand with Bracers of Armor +1. If he is dug up, the other bracer is still on his other arm, but his body from the legs down is missing. About halfway up this particular slope the PC’s feel a trembling in their feet and the loose gravel begins drifting downhill.


During this Combat, the entire field is difficult terrain, requiring a DC 15 Climb Check to move half speed (as if swimming). 60 ft above the PCs, the mountain flattens out for a 20 ft radius semicircle, upon which the PC’s have even footing.

This armor-plated creature’s toothy maw gapes wide as a fin-like dorsal plate rises between its shoulders.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Leap (Ex)

A bulette can perform a special kind of pounce attack by jumping into combat. When a bulette charges, it can make a DC 20 Acrobatics check to jump into the air and land next to its enemies. If it makes the Acrobatics check, it can follow up with four claw attacks against foes in reach, but cannot make a bite attack.

Tactics
The Bullette alternates between burrowing to bite from half cover and Leaping to full attack.
